It started like most sessions do, with an email about photos and availability. And quickly it became clear that H was looking for some photos that represented her, and that connected her to her parents when they were back in Quebec.
We agreed on a date, and set about shooting in the back yard as the summer sun pushed through the trees for some beautiful open shade. It didn't take long for her confidence and personality to start to shine.
I am always so thankful when someone trusts me with their portraits. While I am not at the newspaper anymore, I love being able to meet people, hear their stories, and translate who they are into pictures.
